Chinese athlete Tong Xin delivered outstanding performance to win the gold medal on Sunday in the women's Taijiquan -- Taijijian all-round of Wushu at the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, east China's Zhejiang Province.
Kenneth Fok Kai-kong, head of the Hong Kong delegation, congratulated the athletes after the contest. "I hope Wushu can manifest the Chinese culture and civilization," Fok told reporters.
Basma Lachkar of Brunei and Chen Suijin from Hong Kong, China won silver and bronze respectively.
The Wushu tournament, offering a total of 15 gold medals, will run through to September 28.
Wushu, the Chinese term for martial arts and more commonly known as kung-fu, has been contested at the Asian Games since 1990 in Beijing.
