Shanghai sees travel rush as holidays start

The Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station saw the holiday travel rush on Thursday as the rail transportation of the "Super Golden Week," which combines the Mid-Autumn Festival and the National Day holidays, started on Wednesday. 　

According to statistics from the Shanghai Municipal Transportation Commission, from Sept. 27 to Oct. 8, the total passenger flow to and from the Hongqiao hub will reach 8.66 million, of which the Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station accounts for nearly 80 percent. Among them, about 435,000 passengers are expected to travel on　Sept. 29. The railway station will handle about 456,000 passengers on Oct. 6.
