A giant relief carved into a cliff became a place of interest for curious tourists on Saturday in the Banshanya Line Trail in Yuzhong District, southwest China's Chongqing. The Banshanya Line Trail, also known as the Mid-levels Cliff Trail, is a trial on the cliff facing the Jialing River, offering visitors a glimpse of the hilly landscape of Chongqing.
The relief depicts the stilted buildings and houses, and illustrates the daily lives of people in a vivid manner, including porters shouldering loads up and down steep hill, shop owners peddling along the street, and horse caravans transporting goods to make a living.
The design of the relief is based on the terrain of Fotuguan Park, which is located in Yuzhong District and is one of the oldest parks in Chongqing with rich cultural deposits.
