(ECNS)—The trans-Himalayan connectivity projects, epitomized by the China-Nepal cross-border railway project, would facilitate Nepal's transition from a landlocked country to a land-linked one, contributing to the exchanges between the two ancient civilizations—the Chinese civilization and South Asia civilization, said Jhala Nath Khanal, Nepal's former Prime Minister and a senior leader of the CPN (Unified Socialist), in an exclusive interview with China News Network recently.
Khanal was referring to China's Belt and Road Initiative.
He emphasized the great potential for hydropower and clean energy development in Nepal and expects more projects to be carried out with China.
