Cuban scientist Pedro A. Valdes-Sosa now works at the Chengdu-based University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC).
The 73-year-old scientist has long been committed to enhancing the special friendship between Cuba and China and actively promoting scientific research cooperation between China and other countries under the Belt and Road Initiative.
"Coming to UESTC has increased my academic life by many years," said Valdes-Sosa.
"The Belt and Road Initiative is a sustainable way of providing means so that countries can help develop themselves," he added.
