The traditional Lusheng festival was celebrated in Gulong Town of Huangping County in Miao-Dong Autonomous Prefecture of Qiandongnan, southwest China's Guizhou Province, on Friday.
The festival, named after the reed-pipe wind instrument known as Lusheng, is held to pray for a good harvest. It is held on the 25th day of the 9th lunar month each year in Huangping Miao village. On the day, Miao people dress up in their traditional costumes with silver ornaments, and play Lusheng, sing folk songs.
In 2007, the festival was included in the second batch of the provincial intangible cultural heritage list of Guizhou Province.
