50th anniversary of Philadelphia Orchestra's China tour: two pieces show deep friendship

On Friday night in Beijing, before an anniversary concert of the Philadelphia Orchestra's 1973 China tour, the China National Symphony Orchestra and Philadelphia Orchestra exchanged gifts. 　

As gifts, the full score of Beethoven's 5th Symphony and the phonograph record of The Yellow River Piano Concerto have a special significance and bear witness to the half-century-long friendship between the two orchestras. 　

Fifty　years ago, the Philadelphia Orchestra performed in China for the first time, becoming the first American art group to perform in the People's Republic of China, which embarked on a historic art ice-breaking trip. 　

Over the past 50 years, the Philadelphia Orchestra has made 12 visits to China and has built deep friendships with Chinese audiences, musicians, and literary organizations.
