The annual "Double 11" shopping festival has set off a boom on both sides of the Taiwan Strait, bringing inexpensive but high-quality mainland goods to Taiwan, a mainland spokesperson said Wednesday.
Zhu Fenglian, spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, made the remarks at a news conference in Beijing on Wednesday.
Zhu said that this year, the most purchased goods by Taiwan residents are clothing and bags, among which luggage cases have exploded in popularity among consumers in Taiwan this year.
We are very happy to see that the booming mainland e-commerce market has built a convenient and affordable shopping channel for Taiwan people, and has also provided greater space for the deepening cooperation and innovative development of cross-Strait logistics and related businesses, Zhu said.
