A cruise ship named Mediterranea, operated by Adora Cruises, began its maiden voyage from Qingdao, east China's Shandong Province on Sunday.
The ship started to serve the Chinese market on Sept. 30 this year. It is 292 meters long and has a gross tonnage of 86,000 metric tons. It is the largest cruise ship currently in operation in China.
The ship Mediterranea is full of rich Mediterranean customs and cultural elements. With a capacity of 2,680 passengers in 1,057 luxury rooms and suites, the cruise ship will take passengers on a six-day, five-night maritime adventure.
In September, Qingdao became the first city in northern China to resume international cruise services. The operation of the cruise line by the ship Mediterranea in Qingdao is a new start for Adora Cruises to promote a greater market in northern China.
