The Beilun II bridge, linking the city of Dongxing in China and the city of Mong Cai in Vietnam, opened for passenger transport on Wednesday. It will effectively reduce the pressure on passenger clearance at the Beilun River Bridge.
The Beilun II bridge opened to traffic on March 19, 2019. It spans 549 meters across the border river between China and Vietnam and is built to the first-class highway standard. Construction started in 2014 and was completed in late 2017, costing a total of 220 million yuan (about 31 million U.S. dollars).
