China's first medium-speed, high-power ammonia-fueled engine ignited successfully in Dalian, Northeast China's Liaoning Province, marking a key tech breakthrough in such kind of engines.
This ammonia-fueled engine can produce up to 208 kilowatts of power from a single cylinder, with 85 percent ammonia energy.
Compared to conventional diesel-only engines, this ammonia-fueled engine reduces carbon emissions by 80 percent. The motor will be installed on the country's first ammonia-fueled tugboat.
