A total of 2,029 foreigners entered China visa-free on December 1, the first day of China's implementation of a 15-day visa-free policy for nationals from France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and Malaysia, according to the National Immigration Administration on Saturday.
Among them, the number of Malaysian visitors was the largest, with 1,113, while the number of French visitors surged, increasing by 52.31 percent compared to the day before.
Many visitors thought that the new policy provided convenience for them to work, travel and study in China.
