Starting from December, students of Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Jiangsu Province, have been able to enjoy a breakfast costing only 0.01 yuan (about 0.0014 U.S. dollars), as a reward for their diligence before their postgraduate examinations.
There are five fixed set menus that students can select from, and the school canteen will rotate one set menu per week.
Students may also freely choose to mix and match various foods to their liking.
According to school staff, this initiative has been simultaneously implemented across 10 canteens, serving three major campuses, commencing from 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. daily.
The school provides a total of 700 breakfast meals each day, accessible for a fee of 0.01 yuan (approximately 0.0014 US dollars). Students who arise early are encouraged to purchase cards, which can be exchanged for these breakfast meals.
