Primary and secondary schools in the quake-hit areas of Jishishan, northwest China's Gansu Province started to resume classes on Monday.
Yangshan Hope Primary School in Jishishan County held a flag-raising ceremony with its 76 students at 8:30 a.m. on Monday morning, while some schools resumed online classes.
The authorities began organizing resumption of classes combining online and offline approaches according to the actual situation of each school from Monday. In some areas, teachers taught in temporary tents with school activities. Kindergartens in earthquake-stricken areas will not resume classes this semester.
