Hangzhou launched a driverless taxi service on Monday in east China's Zhejiang Province. The routes were respectively "Civic Center - Hangzhou East Railway Station" and "Civic Center - Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport".
The route is also the first demonstration line of intelligent connected vehicles to the high-speed rail station in the central urban area. The CNS reporter took a ride on Tuesday.
During each travel, a safety officer will be in the driverless taxi, and the manual driving mode will be switched at any time when necessary to ensure the safety of travel. During the journey, the vehicle mostly drove at a speed of about 50 kilometers per hour, which was able to effectively cope with urban road congestion.
