With the Spring Festival approaching, ice and snow tourism in northeast China continues to be hot. On Wednesday, an ice and snow park on the China-Russia border in Jiayin County, Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province, welcomed many tourists from southern China to enjoy snow sculptures and experience snow activities.
The temperature was close to minus 30 degrees Celsius on Wednesday. Tourists from southern China brought boiling water, competing to experience turning boiling water into ice crystals.
When boiling water is thrown into freezing air, vapors encounter an extreme temperature difference, which rapidly cools down and condenses into ice crystals, forming an arc-shaped ice halo. It looks like numerous arrows shooting in a circle, accompanied by vapor condensation, becoming a popular game for tourists.
In addition, Jiayin County prepared hot fish soup for tourists to disperse the cold. Ms. Wang from Jiangsu Province said that although the weather was freezing in the northeast, her heart was very warm.
