A hoisting drill for a simulated rocket at the No. 1 launch pad of Hainan commercial spacecraft launch site was conducted on Thursday in Wenchang, south China's Hainan Province.
The simulated rocket was designed and manufactured by imitating the primary type of CZ-8 rocket. A road transport vehicle transferred the rocket to the No. 1 launch pad.
With the close and accurate cooperation of many parties, the rocket's first stage completed the rocket body reversal and hoisting, landed steadily on the launch pad, and successfully docked and locked, completing the hoisting drill.
The construction work was completed in December 2023 on the No. 1 launch pad, and it will enter the joint drill stage in the first quarter of this year as scheduled. The hoisting drill lays the technical foundation for future launches.
