China's first self-developed subsea water injection tree was put into operation in the Zhanjiang sea area, which is of great significance in promoting the high-quality development of China's offshore oil industry, China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) said on Tuesday.
According to Yan Bangchuan, project manager of CNOOC Zhanjiang Branch, there are only a few companies in the world that master the design and manufacture of subsea water injection trees.
The self-developed subsea water injection tree has the characteristics of lightweight and low-cost. Compared with the same type of products abroad, its weight is reduced by 40 percent and the cost is reduced by 60 percent. It can be generally applied to shallow waters. The subsea water injection tree in the Weizhou oilfield is expected to increase crude oil production by 50,000 metric tons.
