Aerial video shows photovoltaic (PV) power generation panels on the water surface in Wan'an County, east China's Jiangxi Province. Fish farming and power generation co-exist here.
The local government has been developing PV projects catering to local conditions to achieve economic and environmental benefits and to promote the revitalization of rural industries.
In recent years, the local government has constructed a 54 MW fishery PV power plant and a 38 MW agricultural PV power plant in the reservoir and the surrounding farmland. The project not only generates green power but also provides local income from fishing and planting.
Since June 2021, the project has generated a total of 170 million kWh of electricity and is expected to generate 101 million kWh of electricity annually, saving 33,600 metric tons of coal and reducing the emission of greenhouse gas carbon dioxide by about 92,300 metric tons.
It is expected to provide clean electricity for the green transformation of the local society.
