With a history of more than 1,700 years, Qinhuai Lantern Festival is a traditional event held in Nanjing during the Spring Festival and has been recognized as a national-level intangible cultural heritage item.
During the celebration, Gu Yeliang, an inheritor of Qinhuai lanterns, was invited on Wednesday to teach the youths from both sides of the Taiwan Strait to make rabbit lanterns with lead wires and colored paper.
Gu hopes that more young people across the Strait will work together to inherit the traditional Chinese craftsmanship.
