China's Ministry of Public Security announced on Friday that the Myanmar police recently handed over 497 telecom fraud suspects.
The ministry said it has continued to strengthen international law enforcement cooperation with the law enforcement agencies in Myanmar this year, and dispatched a working group to cooperate with local police in conducting joint operations, successfully arresting 497 telecom fraud suspects in the Tachileik area of Myanmar.
As of now, 46,000 telecom fraud suspects have been handed over to China, and a large number of fraud dens have been successfully eradicated, it said.
Currently, the ministry has deployed public security organs in the provinces of Hubei, Sichuan, and other places to escort the suspects back from Yunnan and fully investigate relevant cases.
