Footage released by the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations on Sunday shows that heavy mechanical equipment has arrived at the scene of the fire in Crocus Hall in order to demolish the damaged structure of the building and clear the ruins.
The rescue operation at the site of the terrorist attack is completed, announced Andrey Vorobyov, the governor of Moscow Oblast, on Saturday. The search operation is still ongoing, he said.
The main fire has been essentially extinguished in Crocus Hall, according to the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations.
At least 133 people were killed in an attack in a concert hall near Moscow on Friday, the worst terrorist event in Russia for years. Russia said it had arrested 11 people, including four suspected gunmen.
Russian President Vladimir Putin called the attack a "barbaric terrorist act" and announced March 24 as the day of national mourning.
