China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) announced on Monday the discovery of a high-production oil and gas well in the Bohai Sea, with a test daily output of nearly 1,400 cubic meters of oil and gas equivalents, a new record for daily production from deep-sea oil and gas exploration wells in China.
The well deployed by CNOOC is buried under more than 5,000 meters of seabed. Located in the central part of the Bohai Sea, the well has a daily output of 855 cubic meters of crude oil and over 500,000 cubic meters of natural gas, indicating promising exploration prospects, CNOOC said.
