Rare footage captures wild mother and cub giant pandas

Staff at the Giant Panda National Park in Sichuan Province released a rare video clip featuring a wild giant panda mother and her cub in the Fengtongzhai Township of Baoxing County on Tuesday.　

The giant panda cub was playfully scratching at the tree trunk in the snow.

According to a staff member at the park, giant panda cubs are raised by female pandas alone.　

Under normal circumstances, panda cubs leave their mothers and begin living independently when they reach two years old.
