Benzilan, located on the banks of the Jinsha River, is a small town in Deqin County, Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province which sits at an altitude of 2,000 meters and enjoys a pleasant environment. In the past, merchants and passengers on the Tea and Horse Ancient Road stopped here for a rest. Today, it has become a stop for countless tourists from home and abroad to visit the famous scenic spot of Meili Snow Mountain, and French traveler Estella was one of them. The vegetation and scenery of the arid-hot valley in Benzilan reminded her of the paradise where she spent her childhood vacation– her grandmother's house in Provence. She rented a small building and converted it into a homestay, and she decided to settle down in Benzilan.
