The 15th Annual Meeting of the New Champions, also known as the Summer Davos, opened on Tuesday in Dalian in China's Liaoning province.
Siddharth Chatterjee, United Nations' Resident Coordinator to China, noted that China has made great progress in advancing on five key areas – global governance, Sustainable Development Goals acceleration, young generations and future generations, artificial intelligence, and global peace and security, which will be focused on during the Summit of the Future set to take place in September.
“China can do something to better position the multilateralism with the UN and be a key contributor to be giving that enabling environment,” he concluded.
