In the latest W.E. Talk with China News Service, Weng Hekai, deputy director of Chinese Culture Department of the Central Institute of Socialism, said that the fit between Marxism, socialism and excellent traditional Chinese culture is a classic and time-honored topic, while Chinese scholar Guo Moruo and British scholar Joseph Needham, among others, have explored and researched related topics.
Weng added that in the last decade or so, Chinese academics have been exploring the relationship between Marxism and Confucianism, especially the possibility of their convergence and fit. (Peng Dawei, Wu Jiaju)
