(ECNS) -- The 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), or COP29, is currently underway in Baku, Azerbaijan from Nov. 11 to 22, with the focus on climate finance.
Janos Pasztor, Former UN Assistant Secretary-General on Climate Change said in an exclusive interview with China News Network that the world needs to explore new ways of financing, engaging more with the private sector including finding different ways to tax financial transactions. He noted that China has advanced a lot with regard to climate action and suggested that it is perhaps time for China to build on its past successes and play a leading role at the global level in tackling climate change.
