Peru sees new port open

The opening ceremony of the Chancay Port was held on Thursday.　

"There is one project that has just been inaugurated — the Chancay Port. This project is here　to connect the two countries, import and export different things,"　said Ivone Noriega, a Peruvian student at Beijing University of Chemical Technology.　

Transit time to Shanghai will be slashed from 35 days to 25 days, cutting costs for exporters who currently rely on routes through the Atlantic Ocean.
