(ECNS) -- A China-Brazil youth storytelling event was held at the University of São Paulo in Brazil on Tuesday and an online 3D exhibition themed "Young Filmmakers' Perspectives on China" (https://vr.chinanews.com) was officially launched on the event.
Ahead of that, 21 students and faculty members from the University of São Paulo, who participated in the "Looking China Youth Film Program," sent a letter to President Xi Jinping, in anticipation of Xi's upcoming state visit to Brazil.
On November 11, President Xi replied to letters from friendly personages from all walks of life in Brazil, encouraging them to continuously contribute to the China-Brazil friendship.
There is immense potential for cooperation between China and Brazil in the audiovisual industry, said Cecília Mello, professor at the Department of Film, University of São Paulo, who was also the initiator of the letter.
She added that through co-production of documentaries and TV series, stories from the two countries get intertwined, and the two sides can carry out cultural exchanges and seek common ground while reserving differences. (Hao Yunhui, Wu Xinru)
