Lighting fireworks to ward off evil spirits and pray for peace is a key Chinese New Year tradition. Liuyang City, in central China's Hunan Province, is known as the "Hometown of Chinese Fireworks.” With a history spanning more than 1,400 years, its fireworks are exported to over 100 countries worldwide. Noticeably, two out of three fireworks that illuminate the sky originate from Liuyang.
