A late-model comprehensive supply ship set sail on Monday to Sansha city in south China's island province Hainan, to supply and safeguard islands in the South China Sea.
The ship, 90 meters long and 14.6 meters wide, is the biggest supply ship with a displacement of 2700 tons from the Chinese army. It will be responsible for transporting large-scale equipment, supplying islands and conducting sea rescue in the waters near Sansha city.
