Fields near the ancient Mianzhu ruins in Deyang City, Southwest China's Sichuan Province are suspected to have been dug up by robbers in search of relics. The 1,800-year-old ruins have been under provincial cultural protection since June 2007. An official at the cultural heritage administration said ancient tombs near the ruins don't fall under its protection and excavations in the field will be refilled to again make the land suitable for farming.
