China Braille Library in Beijing (1/3)

A visually impaired person reads electronic books at the China Braille Library in Beijing, capital of China, May 9, 2012. The braille library, which is located at the crossroad of Nanwei Road and Taiping Street of Beijing, was put into operation in June of 2011 with construction area of 28,000 square meters. There are a total of 270 staff members and more than 500 volunteers. The library collects more than 60,000 braille books and 20,000-hour audio materials. Besides book lending and mailing services, it also provides braille education, computer training, life skill tutorials and some other commonweal services for visually impaired persons.
