Li Mengnan, a teenager who killed a doctor and injured three others at a hospital, is on trial at the Intermediate People's Court of Harbin, in Harbin, capital of northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, Oct. 19, 2012. Li, 18, received a life sentence and was also ordered to pay more than 680,000 yuan (108,743 U.S. dollars) to the victims' families in compensation. On March 23, 2012, Li, an out-patient with the First Affiliated Hospital of Harbin Medical University, attacked four medical workers with a knife after "misunderstandings" toward the treatment program prescribed by doctors, the ruling said. Wang Hao, a 28-year-old intern of the hospital, was stabbed to death, and three others suffered injuries. (Xinhua/Wang Jianwei)
