Bian Keping (C), founder of "Xing Ping Sunshine Home" foster center for the handicapped, leads children to the class at the center in Xixia District of Yinchuan, capital of northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, Dec. 3, 2012. Bian, an ordinary laid-off worker, spent all her belongings on establishing the foster center for handicapped children in 2007. She has helped 67 mentally-handicapped children in the past five years, who gave her the name "Mom Bian". The December 3 of each year marks International Day of People with Disability, an international observance promoted by the United Nations in 1992 to promote the understanding of disability issues and mobilize support and service for people with disabilities.
