A pile of ebony tree trunks are seized by police in Huizhou, South China’s Guangdong province. A man dug up 44 logs, weighing approximately 50 tons and with a worth of 500,000 yuan($80,600), but the rare wood was later seized by police as it is the property of the state. The trunks had been buried underground for nearly 1,000 years, sources say. The finder of the wood didn’t face charges, but the confiscation has raised debate on the Internet. (Photo/CFP)
