Chinese President Xi Jinping and his U.S. counterpart Donald Trump on Monday discussed the situation on the Korean Peninsula over the phone, sending a strong, clear message to the world that all parties concerned should refrain from taking any action that will aggravate tensions on the Peninsula.
During the past months, tensions on the Korean Peninsula have been escalating and peace-loving people around the world are worrying about the aggravation.
On the one hand, just several days ago, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) tested a ballistic missile launch, vowing that a new nuclear test was being prepared and more missile tests would be conducted on a weekly, monthly and yearly basis.

It is known to all that a missile launch and nuclear test by the DPRK are contrary to the goal of denuclearizing the Korean Peninsula. Last week, the UN Security Council expressed opposition to the DPRK's missile launch and reiterated its stance on resolving problems through dialogue.
