Chinese President Hu Jintao, from Monday to Friday, exchanged congratulatory messages respectively with the presidents of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Ukraine on the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations with those countries.
In his messages, Hu spoke highly of the development of China's bilateral ties with the six countries over the past 20 years.
The relations between China and those countries are standing at a new starting point, and facing broader prospects for development, Hu said.
China is willing to work with those countries to increase political trust, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, seek common development and prosperity to promote world and regional peace, stability and development, Hu said.
Presidents of the six countries also sent congratulatory messages to Hu. They expressed willingness to develop traditional friendly relations and mutually beneficial cooperation with China.
Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi also exchanged congratulatory messages with his counterparts of the six countries.
