Consultation system of national defense built

The"consultation system of implementing the national defense requirements in national transportation construction", which had been jointly established by six ministries, commissions and bureaus including the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and the General Logistics Department (GLD) of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA), was declared to run formally.

And the first consultative conference was held in Beijing on January 6, 2012, marking that the military-civilian integration in transportation construction has entered a new stage of in-depth development and overall promotion.

According to a briefing, the primary mission of establishing the consultation system is to discuss and study the work on implementing the national defense requirements in national transportation construction and put forward related policies and suggestions, to discuss and solve the major issues in the implementation process, and to coordinate and guide the related work of provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities.

 In line with the work rules, a regular consultative conference shall be held annually, and consultative conferences participated in by all or part of the member units can also be held according to state of affairs.

According to Qin Yinhe, convener of the consultative conference and deputy director of the GLD, the establishment of the system is not only the summarization and sublimation of the fine tradition of the solidarity between the army and the government, but also the mode reform in implementing the national defense requirements in transportation construction in the new period.
