The group of five hundred people had come from Jiangsu province expressly with the aim of purchasing the iPhone 4S for a local mobile phone store.
A chaotic scenario also occurred at Apple's main stores in Shanghai, where five hundred of people wearing orange caps showed up on Huaihai Road around 8 p.m. on Thursday, according to Dongfang Daily. The group had come from Jiangsu province expressly with the aim of purchasing the iPhone 4S for a local mobile phone store.
"My son asked me to buy an iPhone 4S for him, and I have been waiting here since 5:30 a.m.," a middle-aged man at the store told Dragon TV.
Apple issued a statement via Sina.com at noon. It said at present all iPhone 4S were sold out in the Chinese Apple stores as the demand for the device is overwhelmingly huge.
Apple felt sorry the flagship store in Sanlitun Village shut its door today to protect employees from the outside conflict.
Apple will temporarily not put iPhone on sale at Apple stores of Shanghai and Beijing. Customers are able to book iPhone via online store of Apple or purchase from China Unicom and other authorized operators.
