Security guards at the railway station in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province discovered a live poisonous snake in a passenger's luggage on Monday morning - which the man said was meant to be cooked up for dinner.
The 30-year-old passenger, surnamed Huang, hails from Ganzhou, Jiangxi Province and works in construction site in Shenzhen. He said that after catching the snake at a building site, he secured it inside a paper box and brought it to the train station. Whilst viewing it in the screening machine, inspectors saw something wriggling and ordered the man to open the box.
The snake then reared its ugly head, scaring the fellow passengers entering the station half to death.
Police later arrived and forced the man to kill the snake.
