Spring Festival is days away, and while you might be getting ready to tuck into your jiaozi and watch the fireworks, don't forget that many of life's bare essentials are taking a bit of a break too.
Before you get yourself into a pickle, Global Times brings you all the information you need to know when it comes to closures over the holiday. We hope it helps.
Happy Spring Festival!
Hospitals
Beijing Chaoyang Hospital
The specialist clinic will be closed between January 22 and 24; the regular clinic will remain open every day.
Beijing Anzhen Hospital
Outpatient services will be restricted between January 22 and 28; the specialist clinic will be closed completely.
United Family Hostpital

Sino Japanese Friendship Hospital

Airports
Beijing Capital International Airport says it will continue to operate normally during the festival. Weather warnings have been issued for the first three days of the holiday for smog and possible blizzards.
If returning on a late flight over the next week, transport to and from the airport ends at normal time and taxis are in short supply. Consider booking your own transport from the airport to home in advance.
Subway
Yonghegong station on lines 2 and 5 is closed on January 23.
Between January 22 and 28 all lines of the Beijing subway, except the airport express, will run a weekend service.
Beijing Railway Station, Beijing West Railway Station, Beijing South Railway Station and subways for Military Museum, Xizhimen, Dongzhimen and Xidan will run extra trains if necessary.
Restaurants
It looks like most of Beijing's staple eateries will be running in some form or another. However, check in advance if you want to eat on January 22, as some locations have reduced hours or are closed.
Expect potential holdups with delivery services between January 22 and 25.
Meanwhile, expect top restaurants such as Capital M, Modo, Mosto and SALT to be taking a healthy break at some point between January 22 and 28. Call to enquire about opening hours and make a reservation before you turn up.
