China's southern provinces, which normally experience warm weather in the early months of the year, are expected to continue suffering from low temperatures between Jan. 24 and 26, according to the national meteorological network.

In the coming three days, the eastern part of southwest China, and the central part of Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces, are going to see drizzle or light snow.

Meanwhile, the central and western parts of Guizhou province, southwest China, and the southern part of Hunan province, south China, are expected to experience sleet.

This year, the temperature in south China has been slightly colder than the average, according to the network.

The traditional Spring Festival, or the Chinese Lunar New Year's Day, falls on Jan. 23 of the Gregorian calendar. The Chinese are enjoying an ongoing week-long holiday that started on Jan. 22 and will end on Jan. 28.
