China will use information technology to improve the efficiency of distributing agricultural products, central authorities said Wednesday.
A document publicized by the central committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council, the Cabinet, said the nation will innovate better ways of distributing farm produce.
To reduce logistics costs, the nation will encourage direct link-ups between agricultural producers and wholesale markets, farm produce fairs, supermarkets, hotels and restaurants, schools, and company canteens.
It will also support production bases and farm cooperatives to establish supply outlets in urban communities, according to the document.
