Some 7,433 individual tourists from Shanghai have visited Taiwan since June, when people from the Chinese mainland were allowed to go to the island without a guided tour group, Shanghai Taiwan Affairs Office said Monday.
Another 80,013 tourists visited Taiwan on group tours last year, up slightly by 2.3 percent from the previous year, while 3,215 people visited the island on a group exchange after receiving invitations from Taiwan organizations, according to the office.
