A multi-million-yuan water purification project will supply the water-impoverished capital with desalinated sea water, the Legal Mirror reported.
Tangshan, Hebei Province-based water processing company Beijing Enterprises Water Group Ltd. is running the project, a venture that cost 430 million yuan ($68 million) to build.
The company expects to market its purified water, 1 to 3 million tons per day, in Beijing at the same prices as tap water.
