(Ecns.cn)--At least two A/H1N1 cases have been confirmed in the Hotan prefecture of northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region since March 1, according to a report from Xinhua News Agency on Monday.
To prevent the flu from spreading, schools in the region immediately resumed morning health checkups for students and teachers, local health authorities confirmed last Sunday.
According to an urgent circular released jointly last Friday by the region's education and health departments, all high schools, primary schools and kindergartens should conduct morning inquiry and examination. Any class with three confirmed A/H1N1 cases would be suspended for 15 days, and an entire school would be suspended for 15 days if seven such cases were confirmed, according to the circular.
People exhibiting flu symptoms such as fever, cough or sore throat are strongly advised to report to the health department for a more thorough examination.
