China's top legislature ends annual session

The fifth session of the 11th National People's Congress (NPC), China's top legislature, began its closing meeting in Beijing Wednesday morning.

The meeting is presided over by Wu Bangguo, chairman of the NPC Standing Committee. President Hu Jintao and other top leaders will attend the closing meeting at the Great Hall of the People.

The deputies has adopted Premier Wen Jiabao's government work report, the country's 2012 plan for national economic and social development and the revision to the Criminal Procedure Law.

They will also vote on the draft method for the election of deputies to the 12th NPC from the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR), the draft method for the election of deputies to the 12th NPC from the Macao SAR and some other reports and documents.
