Chongqing vice mayor dismissed

The Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) has decided to remove Wang Lijun from the position of vice mayor of Chongqing, a senior official with the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee was quoted Thursday by xinhuanet.com.

He Ting, vice governor and police chief of Qinghai Province, has been nominated to replace Wang as vice mayor of Chongqing.

He, 50, became Party Chief and vice governor of Qinghai in March, 2009. He also serves as head of the provincial Department of Public Security.
